How We Grow Our Produce
-
Regenerative / No Till
What is Regenerative Agriculture? We garden just like nature. Nature grows plants though mulching and no-tillage. We see it all the time when mowing our lawns or raking leaves. Nature is always mulching the ground to recycle nutrients for the next generation of plants and to eliminate erosion. We disturb the soil as little as possible when planting. We also use compost and wood chips to feed the soil, suppress weeds, eliminate erosion, reduce the soil temperature, and retain soil moisture. Walk through our "What is Regenerative Agriculture" series of videos to see why this is so important.

Non GMO / Organic Soil Amendments
We plant NON-GMO seeds, and we want our gardens full of soil, not just dirt! Testing our soil for nutrients is the first step in the process. We test our soil to find out how much Nitrogen, Sulfur, Phosphorus, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Sodium, Boron, Iron, Manganese, Copper, and Zinc it has. We correct the soil with organic soil amendments to have the right quantity of nutrients in the right ratios to make soil thrive and produce flavorful and nutrient-dense produce. Come taste and see the difference!

No Poisons
We don't use herbicides, pesticides, or poison. Instead, we use low tunnels that cover our rows to help prevent bugs. We find that most disease and pest problems are not the pests and diseases themselves, it is the lack of nutrients in the soil to make healthy plants. We combat pests and diseases with nutrition. This is true with our own bodies as well. If you are sickly all the time, you need to look at what you are eating. The nutrition in the soil is the foundation of life - because all life ultimately comes from the soil.
