One (1) half a beef is available each month. When you order, Ryan will be in touch with your butcher date and cut sheet. First come, first serve. Call for further details or questions!

Half Freezer Beef - Roughly 59% of the live weight will be the hanging weight
1,000 lb live beef ~ 295 lb half beef hanging weight
We charge $6.50/lb hanging weight to buy the beef from us with a deposit fee of $950 to reserve your half beef
Remainder of the bill due before picking up your meat. I will send you an invoice to finish paying the remainder once I get the hanging weight.
Processing Fee - You pay the processing to cut up your beef
The beef is processed at Panola County Processing and typically hung for 7-14 days
Processing is $1.45/lb hanging weight plus a $50 harvest and disposal fee
Standard ground meat comes in 2lb packages (1lb packages is another $0.25/lb)
Burger patties is another $0.50/lb

295 lb hanging weight ~ 195 lb packaged meat
$1917.50 to Pickenpaugh Family Farm ($950 deposit + $967.50 hanging weight remainder)
$582.75 to Panola County Processing (295lb x $1.45/lb = $427.75 + $50 Harvest Fee + $20 1lb ground beef packs + $45 Broth Bones + $40 Label Fee)
$2,500.25 total for ~ 195 lb meat ~ $12.82/lb packaged meat
You won’t have much room left in a 10 cubic foot upright freezer for a half beef
You are responsible for paying for processing and picking up your meat from Panola County Processing.
